I’m not sure which road I’m on,
but I do know where I’m going
Alberto Chases Glenn off the Road
First and foremost, Glenn is perfectly all right and has only been inconvenienced by Alberto.
This morning he set off from Perry, hoping to reach Fanning Springs today, or possibly Chiefland, but at times he was unable to see through the rain and was forced to stop. He took shelter under some trees and got scratched for his pains, but that’s the extent of his injuries.
Highway 19 runs through a very rural area.. The map shows several small towns but they didn’t offer any facilities and Glenn was forced to battle on to Cross City before he could find a hotel. Forty-five miles is not a great distance, but considering the squalls and fierce headwinds, it’s quite an achievement by bicycle.
Once the storm is past, Glenn hopes to take full advantage of northerly winds to catch up on the distance lost while he has had to shelter from Alberto. So let’s hope Alberto speeds on through and lets Glenn get back on the road and enjoy that tailwind.
What in heaven’s name have
I got myself into?
“Miserable” does not describe conditions as a major storm is bearing down on you
Not many pictures today - Glenn didn’t think to bring an underwater camera
And Alberto is still waiting to come ashore
